David Sherwood Race Bio

David Sherwood born December 21, 1955.  Grew-up in Georgia and developed a love of fast cars at an early age building hotrods and street drag racing. While serving in the Army he was introduced to Dirt track racing in Beatrice NE and his future wife Sandra.  After being discharged from the army he spent time in Georgia but soon moved to Beatrice in part to get into dirt track racing.  He raced in Beatrice from 1977 to the mid 1980’s.  He wasn’t very successful , his highest finish during that time was second in a heat race and second in the trophy dash both behind Ken Kovar. Life and family intervened and he was out of racing till 2000 when he suited up for the pro-am class for one year again not so memorable.

He dropped out of racing again.  Mike and Brian Jurgens talked him into helping them in 2018.  Helping them he learned he had been missing something in those previous years racing: maintenance.  In 2019 he raced a stockcar at Beatrice finishing is highest ever 7^th in points.  In 2020 he switched to sportmod. He got his first ever A feature win and first ever heat race win in 2020.He added another heat race win and A feature win in 2021. In 2021 Mike Won the track champion at Concordia Raceway David was second in points. The last race of the season at Concordia 2021 finished Mike won David second.
